Barbara Windsor, ATA First Vice Chair

President & CEO Hahn Transportation, Inc., New Market, Md.
In 1933, James Russell Hahn founded Hahn Transportation of New Market, Maryland. Now, 76 years later his granddaughter, Barbara Windsor is the company's President and CEO. Hahn is a specialized regional trucking firm that hauls petroleum, aluminum, cement, and more throughout the Mid-Atlantic corridor.

Trucking has always been a very important part of Barbara's life. Both of her parents, Rebecca Hahn Windsor and Robert Windsor, now retired, were very active in the day to day operations of the business. While trucking was in the family's roots, her parents always encouraged her to pursue her own dreams.

Barbara took her parents' message to heart. Prior to joining them at Hahn in 1991, Barbara lived in Kansas City where she was employed by Trans World Airlines for 20 years. The transition from airlines to trucking was not difficult since the Department of Transportation regulates both industries.

Since returning to Maryland, Barbara has been active in many professional and civic associations. Currently she serves as Second Vice Chair of the American Trucking Associations, First Vice Chairman of the National Tank Truck Carriers, and on the Maryland Motor Truck Association Board of Directors. Barbara is a past Chairman of Maryland Motor Truck Association, having followed in the footsteps of her mother, Rebecca, and grandfather, James. Barbara also serves on the YMCA Board of Trustees, the Board of the Community Foundation of Frederick County, and the BB&T Advisory Board. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Frederick and the Frederick Area Committee for Transportation.

Some of Barbara's notable accomplishments include being a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Maryland with Chuck Ecker in 1998, testifying before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee for Transportation Reauthorization, and serving as keynote speaker for the Road Transport Forum in New Zealand.
