The mission of the American Trucking Associations, Inc., is:

  • to serve and represent the interests of the trucking industry with one united voice;
  • to influence in a positive manner Federal and State governmental actions;
  • to advance the trucking industry’s image, efficiency, competitiveness, and profitability;
  • to provide educational programs and industry research;
  • to promote safety and security on our nation’s highways and among our drivers; and
  • to strive for a healthy business environment.

 Leadership You Can Trust

ATA President and CEO Bill Graves knows the issues that your business faces from first hand experience. He grew up in trucking. It's in his blood. His father and grandfather founded Graves Truck Line in 1935 after losing their farm in the Great Depression and steadily grew it into one of the largest regional motor carriers in the nation. Bill learned every aspect of the family business, from loading and unloading to front-office management. Bill Graves, as a former governor of Kansas, is a trusted leader, with a track record of putting trucking's interests first.
