Automated Commercial Environment/International Trade Data System

ATA and its members have been actively working with Customs and Border protection on data, security and system requirements for electronic truck manifests in the Automated Commercial Environment. In 2007, ACE became mandatory for filings at all U.S. land border ports of entry.

The International Trade Data System will be used by other government agencies with an interest in receiving data electronically via the ACE system.  Eventually, this system will allow all U.S. government filing requirements, regardless of the agency requiring them, to be submitted online and pre-approved before a movement to the border commences.
