On February 29, 2008, the American Trucking Associations and the Canadian Trucking Alliance submitted a joint petition for reinterpretation of a U.S. Customs ruling on repositioning of foreign trailers by foreign drivers. On July 28, 2008, this petition was rejected, and CTA and ATA filed a further response. ATA and CTA continue discussion on this issue with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
