ATA CONFERENCES

Representing the Needs of Distinct Fleet Operations

ATA is the voice of the trucking industry and the trucking industry touches every aspect of our economic life … so, ATA naturally represents not only the industry as a whole, but also the business and operational needs of distinct industry segments. This work is carried on by the ATA Conferences, groups of member motor carriers and suppliers in a specific line of business.

Today, there are three ATA Conferences:

Open to all ATA members at no additional cost, the ATA Conferences have policymaking and advocacy authority in their operational areas and afford ATA the ability to influence critical issues facing one segment of the industry.

Automobile Carriers Conference
The Automobile Carriers Conference is open to all ATA member companies engaged in the transportation of motor vehicles and heavy duty trucks and companies engaged in businesses and services allied to this segment of the industry. The mission of the ACC is to provide a strong, unifying and effective voice for motor vehicle and heavy duty truck transporters on legislative and regulatory issues at all levels of government. In addition, through the ACC, carriers are interfacing with the Automotive Industry Logistics Steering Council (AILSC), the auto manufacturers organization, in order to develop methodologies to improve efficiencies and standardizations in the motor vehicle delivery process.

Agricultural and Food Transporters Conference
The Agricultural and Food Transporters Conference is the national organization representing motor carrier and allied members of the American Trucking Associations on critical issues affecting agricultural commodity and food transportation. Founded in 1995, AFTC’s mission is to increase the safety, security, profitability and efficiency of transporters of agricultural commodities, food, forest products and natural resources; and to serve as the advocate for its members within the American Trucking Associations and before the government, other organizations and the public. AFTC works to ensure that its members operate in a strong and profitable business environment by helping shape legislation and regulations that impact the agricultural and food transportation industry.

Intermodal Motor Carriers Conference
The Intermodal Motor Carriers Conference (IMCC) is an affiliated conference of the ATA and is open to all ATA member companies engaged in the intermodal transportation of property or companies engaged in businesses and services supporting intermodal transportation, and state associations affiliated with ATA. The IMCC mission statement directs the conference to… provide a stronger, more unifying and effective voice for the large and growing intermodal motor carrier sector before both government and private entities on key issues including roadability, economic and operational fairness and infrastructure efficiencies.
