TECHNICAL COMMITTEES

Cargo Theft Committee has general responsibility for recommending, creating and/or updating cargo theft initiatives for the trucking industry.  Under the councils’ Cargo Theft Initiative, the group seeks to create and/or enhance both state and federal cargo theft legislation, develop strong alliances between law enforcement and industry security professionals and state and federal prosecutorial bodies.

Claims & Loss Prevention Committee
has general responsibility for reviewing, recommending, creating, and updating/revising cargo claims and loss prevention programs, products and services, including freight claims rules, interline arbitration, bills of lading, claim forms, etc. In addition, the Committee monitors, evaluates and provides input to ATA legislative, policy and legal staff on loss prevention and claims legislation, regulation, trends, practices, experience, and current case law relating to cargo claims. 

Homeland Security Committee
has general responsibility for reviewing, recommending, creating and/or updating/ revising transportation security programs, products and services; as well as monitoring, evaluating and providing recommendations to ATA legislative, policy and legal staff on legislation, regulations, trends, practices and policies relating to transportation, supply chain and homeland security.
