ATA Affiliates

The Affiliates are trucking trade associations having their own direct membership, but with a formal relationship recognizing ATA as the national representative for legislative, regulatory and political matters.  The Affiliates include all 50 state trucking associations, plus three national trade associations.  The national trade associations pay ATA a fee roughly related to the percentage of ATA non-members in their midst.  On the other hand, a prerequisite to motor carrier membership in ATA is membership in at least one state trucking association.

State Trucking Associations (STAs)

Organized in each state and working with state legislative and regulatory bodies.  STA members are often local and intrastate motor carriers, plus interstate motor carriers with facilities or significant operations in the state.
