The Trucking Association Executives Council is comprised of staff executives of state trucking associations and conferences affiliated with the American Trucking Associations. The first recorded meeting of state trucking association executives and ATA was in 1945, although informal meetings were conducted at various times in years previous to that date. Regular annual meetings began in 1955. Eight years later, the “ATA Affiliated Trucking Association Managers Conference” was born. On July 23, 1968, the name was changed to the “Trucking Association Executives Council.”
The TAEC meets three times a year; once in conjunction with the ATA Winter Leadership Conference, again at the TAEC Annual Summer Meeting (July 19-23, 2009, in Mescalero, N.M.) and finally in the fall during the ATA Management Conference and Exhibition. Additionally, the state trucking associations are divided into four geographical regions whose members meet as needed.
The purpose of TAEC is to promote the trucking industry; to contribute to the improvement of the associations and organizations established to serve the trucking industry; and to advance the professional stature and capabilities of the managers and executives of such associations.
