Gary Babbitt, Central Freight Lines, Inc.

Gary Babbitt has been a professional truck driver for 40 years and has accumulated nearly 4.5 million accident-free miles. He is an over-the-road driver for Central Freight Lines, Inc.

Several days each month, Gary speaks to the news media, schools, community groups, and industry and government officials about highway safety and the essentiality of the trucking industry.

Gary has been a Designated Driver Instructor for twenty-five years. He has also been a Selected Classroom Instructor for new and veteran drivers (including Longer Combination Vehicles) for fifteen years. He is a two-time recipient of Central Freight Lines’ “Delivering Results Award” for workplace exellence. Gary is also a three-time nominee in the “Professional Driver Recognition Program”, sponsored by the Texas Motor Transportation Association, the Federal Highway Administration’s Office of Motor Carriers, and the Texas Department of Public Safety. He was a sponsor and coach for youth athletics and is an active participant in the Boy and Girl Scouts of America, as well as his local church.

Gary lives with his wife, Betty, in Rowlett, Texas. They have two children and two grandchildren.
