David Boyer, ABF Freight System, Inc.

David Boyer has been a professional truck driver for 39 years and has accumulated nearly 1.6 million accident-free miles. He is an over-the-road driver for ABF Freight System, Inc.

Several days each month, David speaks to the news media, schools, community groups, and industry and government officials about highway safety and the essentiality of the trucking industry.

David placed first in his division in the 2009 Virginia Truck Driving Championships. He earned the 2 Million Safe Driving Award in 1996 and the 1 Million Safe Driving Award in 2005. He received the 25 Year Safe Driving Award in 2006 and the 30 Year Safe Driving Award in 2010. David participates annually in the Mid-Atlantic Charity Fun Drive for Make-a-Wish Foundation. He is a member of the Mid-Atlantic Professional Truck Drivers Association, as well as God’s Pit Crew, a program that provides aid to disaster relief efforts.

David lives with his wife, Pamela, in Fries, VA. They have three children and seven grandchildren.
