Tim McElwaney, ABF Freight System, Inc.
Tim McElwaney has been a professional truck driver for 28 years and has accumulated nearly 1.6 million accident-free miles. He is a city driver for ABF Freight System, Inc.
Several days each month, Tim speaks to the news media, schools, community groups, and industry and government officials about highway safety and the essentiality of the trucking industry.
Tim is a member of the 2010-2011 ABF Road Team and is an ABF Driver Trainer. He placed first in his division in 2008 at the Georgia Truck Driving Championships. He has been a recipient of the first place Team Trophy at the National Truck Driving Championships, the Georgia Truck Driving Championships, and the Virginia Make-a-Wish Truck Driving Championship, where he participates annually. He has received his 25 Year Safe Driving Award, as well as his 30,000 Hours City Driving Safety Award. Tim is involved with the Georgia TACT Program (Ticketing Aggressive Cars and Trucks).
Tim lives with his wife, Kim, in Carrollton, Ga. They have two children.
