America's Road Team and the trucking industry lost a Captain and good friend on September 24, 2008. Tony Sifford, FedEx Ground, had over 2 million accident-free miles and 14 years behind the wheel.

A third generation truck driver, Tony was dedicated to the trucking industry. He loved his job. Safety was Tony's passion. He always said that "safety is not just a thought, it's a way of life." Tony loved teaching teens and the motoring public about highway safety, including his teenage son.

Tony was a Trucker Buddy, an Assistant Scout Master and a Rescue Squad Member. He had a wonderful sense of humor and never met someone who wasn't a friend.

We will all miss Tony, his smile and twinkle in his eye. Please keep Tony and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

A memorial fund has been established for Hannah and Isaac Sifford, Tony's children.
