Dion Saiz, FedEx Freight

Dion Saiz has been a professional truck driver for 15 years and has accumulated over 1.5 million accident-free miles. He is an over-the-road driver for FedEx Freight.

Several days each month, Dion speaks to the news media, schools, community groups, and industry and government officials about highway safety and the essentiality of the trucking industry.

Dion won first place in his division at the New Mexico Truck Driving Championships in 1999 and 2009. He also has placed second and third at the state level. Dion was named Grand Champion in 2009 and went on to place 13th at the National Truck Driving Championships that year. He has earned his 10 Year Safe Driving Award and is a member of the FedEx Freight President’s Safety Team. Dion enjoys playing guitar, singing, and playing sports with his family.

Dion lives with his wife, Tara, in Albuquerque, N.M. They have two children.
