David May
Con-way Freight

David May has been a professional truck driver for 29 years and has accumulated 1.5 million accident-free miles. He is a relay and city driver for Con-way Freight.

Several days each month, David speaks to the news media, schools, community groups and industry and government officials about highway safety and the essentiality of the trucking industry. 

David was named ATA's National Truck Driver of the Year in 2008.  He has placed first in the straight truck division of the New York State Truck Driving Championships five times. In addition, he won the title of New York State Grand Champion at the competition in 2002. David has been the recipient of the Pre-Trip Award twice and has received the Written Test Award five times. He was selected in 2007 to serve as a driver representative on the CDL Advisory Committee in Washington, D.C.

David and his wife, Lynette, reside in West Seneca, N.Y. They have three children.
