Jerry Avossa

Jerry Avossa has been a professional truck driver for 19 years and has accumulated 1.2 million accident-free miles. He is a line-haul driver for FedEx Freight.

Several days each month, Jerry speaks to the news media, schools, community groups and industry and government officials about highway safety and the essentiality of the trucking industry.

Jerry won first place in the straight truck division at the South Carolina Truck Driving Championships in 2001. That same year, he was named South Carolina Rookie of the Year. Jerry was named Driver of the Month in April of 2007 by the South Carolina Trucking Association.

Jerry and his wife, Elizabeth, reside in Simpsonville, S.C. They have two sons.
