Jose “Manny” Franco has been a professional truck driver for 23 years and has accumulated 1.75 million accident-free miles. He is a city driver for UPS Freight.

Several days each month, Manny speaks to the news media, schools, community groups and industry and government officials about highway safety and the essentiality of the trucking industry.

Manny won first place in the four-axle division of the Arizona State Truck Driving Championships in 2006 and 2009. In 2002, he placed first in the twins division of the US Foodservice Truck Rodeo. Manny is a Smith System Trainer for UPS Freight.

Manny and his wife, Esmeralda, reside in Avondale, Ariz., with their three children.
