Tony Spero, ABF Freight System, Inc.
Tony Spero has been a professional truck driver for 28 years and has accumulated 1.6 million accident-free miles. He is a city driver for ABF Freight System.

Several days each month, Tony speaks to the news media, schools, community groups and industry and government officials about highway safety and the essentiality of the trucking industry.

Tony has placed first in the Connecticut State Truck Driving Championships nine times. He placed first at the National Truck Driving Championships in the flatbed division in 2006 and tank truck division in 2009. In 2004, Tony was named Connecticut Driver of the Year. In addition, Tony has received the following honors at ABF: Five, Ten, and Fifteen Year Safety Awards, Bronze Safe Driving Award, and Silver Safe Driving Award. Tony was a member of the ABF Road Team for five years.

He is a member of the Trucker Buddy (www.truckerbuddy.org) program.

Tony and his wife, Diane, reside in Stratford, Conn., with their two sons.
