Wayne Crowder, FedEx Freight
Wayne Crowder has been a professional truck driver for 25 years and has accumulated 1.3 million accident-free miles. He is a relay driver for FedEx Freight.
Several days each month, he speaks to the news media, schools, community groups and industry and government officials about highway safety and the essentiality of the trucking industry.
Wayne won first place in his division at the Kentucky State Truck Driving Championships in 2004 and 2005. In 2004, he was also named Rookie of the Year at both the state and national level. Wayne placed first in his division at the National Truck Driving Championships that same year and also won the title of National Grand Champion. In addition to winning his division in 2005, Wayne was named Grand Champion at the Kentucky State Truck Driving Championships. He was named Kentucky Driver of the Year in 2007 and is a recipient of the Ten Year Safe Driving Award. Wayne also participates in the Mid-Atlantic Charity Fun Drive to help raise money for the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
Wayne and his wife, Kandy, reside in Lanesville, Ind. They have three children.
